In my opinion, while mental health should be taken into consideration during criminal proceedings, there must still be consequences for violent actions. It is not fair to victims and their families if a criminal is not held accountable for their crimes simply due to a mental illness. In the case of Thayne Ormsby, while it is important to provide mental health treatment, it is equally important to recognize the severity of his crimes and ensure that he remains incarcerated for the rest of his life.
