Unbelievable Congressman Mocks Veteran’s Service

It is appalling to see political candidates attacking each other based on their military service, or lack thereof. This type of divisiveness is harmful to our democracy and should not be tolerated. George Santos, an Afghanistan veteran running for Congress, should be commended for his service and his decision to enter the political arena.

Alternatively, it is important to consider whether Santos is qualified for the position he is seeking. Skepticism about candidates’ qualifications is not uncommon in politics, and it is crucial to thoroughly vet all candidates before they are elected to office. If there are irregularities in Santos’s military service, they should be thoroughly investigated.

However, regardless of whether Santos’s military record is legitimate or not, it is unacceptable for Congressman Tom Suozzi to mock his service. Politicians should be held to a higher standard and should not engage in personal attacks. This type of behavior only creates further divisiveness and prevents productive conversations about the issues facing our country.

It is important for all politicians to remember that they are there to serve the public, and personal attacks only detract from that goal.
